HOMESCHOOL ICE SKATING LESSONS
Homeschool ice skating lessons are being offered again this year at the LaHaye Ice Center. Five week sessions cost $65 and include skate rentals. Classes meet Wednesdays from 9:45a-10:45a (come early to sign-in and get skates on). Email Coach Dawn here for further details.
LIBERTY UNIVERSITY HOMESCHOOL TENNIS CLINIC
The Liberty University Flames Tennis team will be hosting their annual LU Homeschool Tennis Clinic from December 2-6, 2013 at The Sports Racket in Lynchburg (434-385-7534). This is a FREE week-long event for children 7 years-old through high school. Ages 7-12 meet Mon-Fri 1p-2:10p and Ages 13+ meet Mon-Fri 2:15p-3:30p. LEGO PRESCHOOLERS BRICK TIME
The Homeschool Connecting Place will have Preschoolers Brick Time on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 9a-12p at West Lynchburg Baptist Church. Children ages 3-5 will create exciting models based on the alphabet using DUPLO® bricks, allowing them to build in a scale designed for their little hands. Children will learn about letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. Free play time, songs and finger-play round out a fun morning of learning and playing. HOMESCHOOL DAY AT THE CAPITOL
Join hundreds of other homeschoolers from across the Commonwealth for HEAV’s annual Homeschool Day at the Capitol on Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Open to ALL homeschoolers, this is an opportunity to participate in a history lesson your family will never forget! Meet your legislators and view the hustle and bustle of a day at the General Assembly. Attend committee meetings; listen to debates and watch legislators vote; then take guided tours of the historic Capitol and Supreme Court. HEAV members: $25/family, plus $5 for each child who is not a family member; Non-members: $30 per family, plus $5 for each child who is not a family member. COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG HOMESCHOOL WEEKEND
Meet Up with History Homeschool Weekend at Colonial Williamsburg Saturday and Sunday, March 15-16, 2014. 2014 VAHOMESCHOOLERS CONFERENCE & RESOURCE FAIR
Make connections with Virginia homeschooling families at VaHomeschoolers.org statewide annual conference. An Education Like No Other 2014 VaHomeschoolers Conference and Resource Fair is Friday and Saturday, March 21-22, 2014 in Glen Allen, Virginia. This year’s keynote speakers are Susan Wide Bauer (author of The Well Trained Mind, The Story of the World series, and other resources available through Peace Hill Press) and Julie Bogart (author of Brave Writer and other writing resources available through BraveWriter.com).
