The tree is up, but there is still other Christmas preparation to be done. The Shepherds ‘went with haste’ to the manger. Will your family be doing the same?
When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. – Luke 2:15-16
Search the term ‘advent’ online and you’ll find the following definition:
- The arrival of a notable person, thing, or event.
- The first season of the church year, leading up to Christmas and including the four preceding Sundays.
Dig a little deeper and you’ll find resources to illuminate the most notable arrival ever, “a time of good news for great joy that will be for all the people,” when Love came down, Emmanuel ‘God with Us’, the Prince of Peace, Lord of Lords, and King of Kings. Name Above All Names, the Messiah, JESUS, “who is Christ the Lord”, our Redeemer and Savior.
